What is the best way of removing teflon from the inside of stainless steel cookware ?
What is the best way of removing teflon from the inside of stainless steel cookware ? I have looked at sandblasting but commercial sandblasters are all too big.
There are questiosn over potential carcenogenic effects of Teflon and I already have cancer.
It would be less expensive to purchase cookware without Teflon. Even if you scrapped, sanded, or even bead blasted the Teflon there would be minute particles still embedded in the pores of the metal that can loosen and get in your food when the utensil is heated.
Although heavy cast iron is one of the better choices. the only real problem with cast iron is it has to be seasoned or the food will stick. Never scrub cast iron hard or you will be re-seasoning it on a regular bases. It is also heavy and not the prettiest thing in the kitchen.
Stay away from anything with Aluminum as it has now been proven there is a link between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease. It doesn't cause Alzheimer's it can trigger it. If you have Alzheimer's in your family you greatly increase the probability if you use anything with aluminum in it.

Teflon Foot

Sewing Leather - Frustrated!?
I am sewing some box cushion covers in leather and have invested in leather needles and topstitch thread. However i am now finding that although the stitching on top is perfect the underside is looped and uneven, I have adjusted the tension every which way and it isnt helping, I have tried normal thread and that doesnt help either.
I know it is best to buy a leather or Teflon foot but I cant get one delivered before these cushions are supposed to be finished, does anyone know how to stop this happening.
Thanks and sorry for such a dull question!
try waxing the thread with proper beeswax.....
