Overlock Serger

What have you made out of a tablecloth?
Hello crafters and sewers...what have you made from tablecloths? The holiday ones are out and I'd like to do some covers for my chairs.
To those who say it is cheaper to buy the fabric....well not in all cases. You have to drive to JoAnn Fabrics, gas is now $3.25 here...and all of your edges are unfinished which means running the serger or overlock stitch. Dollar General is walking distance to my house and they have beautiful damask tablecloths 120" x 90" for $7.00. I bought one that had scalloped eyelet edges and made my kitchen curtains out of them. I can't do that edging on my machine!
I'm actually thinking of making a skirt with some of the holiday tablecloths.
Sounds fine. Many skirts have a curved hem, but if you're just doing a straight one, you should be able to use the hem of your tablecloth. Personally I stay away from dollar stores because cheap items don't last very long and that contributes to pollution, but if you will keep the skirt for a long time, then that's ok.
