Timing belt on a interference motor?
I have a 89 isuzu. It jumped time yesterday and when i called to price a timing belt i was informed it had an interference motor. Just b/c it has an interference motor does that mean that it positively did warp the valves or just that it could have?
it all depends on how hard the motor was running when it broke. so it could have. so be prepared to have a valve job if that was the case. not only that but it could have put a hole in a piston to from the valve and piston coming in contact. keep your fingers crossed. i have a 99 toyota camry 4 cylinder and the belt broke at 70 miles an hour. thank goodness it is a non interference motor
